Wedding vendors in Albany, NY

Albany is the center of the Capital Region, and couples marrying here spread out across it: Washington Park and the brownstone blocks of Center Square, the Victorian riverfront of Troy, Schenectady's Stockade district, Saratoga Springs half an hour north, and beyond that Lake George and the Adirondack foothills. To the west the Helderberg escarpment and Thacher State Park give you views over the whole valley; to the east the Berkshires are under an hour. Venue fees in our Albany data are modest for a state capital, and the vendor team prices in line with the rest of Upstate. Here's what an Albany wedding actually costs, where couples in the Capital Region are getting married, and when to book, plus a shortcut to vetted, available Albany vendors matched to your date and budget.

Where couples get married in Albany

Downtown Albany & Center Square

Historic halls, hotel ballrooms near the Empire State Plaza and Washington Park's tulip beds for a ceremony in the heart of the capital.

Troy & Schenectady

Restored 19th-century buildings, riverfront halls and the Stockade's cobbled streets, often with gentler minimums than Saratoga.

Saratoga Springs & the north

Grand inns, spa-town gardens and lake venues toward Lake George, at their most expensive during the summer racing season.

The Helderbergs & Columbia County

Farm and orchard venues, hilltop views from the escarpment and historic estates in Kinderhook and along the Hudson south of the city.

When to book in Albany

Albany's season runs June through mid-October, and late September into early October, when the Helderbergs and the Adirondack foothills turn, is the hardest window to book; plan 12 months or more ahead for those Saturdays. Saratoga's thoroughbred meet from late July through Labor Day fills hotels across the whole region and lifts lodging and transport costs, so a summer wedding north of the city should be booked around it. The Tulip Festival in Washington Park in May and graduations at RPI, Union, Skidmore and UAlbany crowd the spring. Winter is cold and snowy but far cheaper, and Friday and Sunday dates open up even in peak.

Common questions

Albany is one of the more reasonably priced places in New York to get married. Venue fees in our data are modest for a capital city and sit below Buffalo, the Hudson Valley and the Hamptons, while photography and hair and makeup cost about what they do across Upstate. Saratoga Springs in summer is the exception, where racing-season demand pushes everything up. The venue and catering will still be most of your total, and guest count moves it more than anything else. Use the ranges above as a starting point from real Albany vendor pricing, and let Our Day negotiate exclusive rates on top.
