Privacy Policy
How Our Day collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information.
1Who this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Our Day, Inc. (“Our Day”, “we”) handles personal information for customers (couples), vendor partners, and visitors who use our website and platform (the “Platform”). It works alongside our Terms of Use.
2Information we collect
You give us
- Account & contact: name, email, phone, password, and (for vendors) business details.
- Event & booking: wedding date, location, budget, style preferences, guest count, and quote details.
- Communications: messages, emails, and texts exchanged through the Platform, which are logged. If you opt in to SMS, we process your mobile number to send texts you can stop anytime by replying STOP (see the Terms of Use).
- Payment details: handled by our payment processor, Stripe (and for vendor payouts, your Stripe connected account); we receive limited confirmation and token data, not full card or bank numbers.
- Content: reviews, photos, and other content you submit.
We collect automatically
- Device and usage data, IP address, pages viewed, and interactions, via cookies and similar technologies.
3Where it comes from
We collect information directly from you, automatically as you use the Platform, and, for vendors, from public and third-party sources that we use to build and continuously verify vendor profiles, including public business listings and reviews from across the web. We clean, deduplicate, and update this information to keep vendor profiles accurate.
4How we use it
- Operate the Platform: match couples to relevant vendors, enable messaging, and process bookings and payments.
- Improve matching and our services, including aggregated and de-identified analysis of transactions and pricing.
- Provide support, send service messages, and resolve disputes using logged records.
- Maintain security, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
- Send marketing where permitted; you can opt out at any time.
5How we share it
- With matched vendors: the details a vendor needs to respond to your request and fulfill a booking.
- With service providers: payment processors, hosting, communications, and analytics vendors acting on our behalf under contract.
- For legal reasons: to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect rights and safety.
- In a business transfer: as part of a merger, acquisition, or financing, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Any “sharing” for cross-context advertising, if introduced, will be disclosed with an opt-out as required by law.
Mobile information: no mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not sold or shared, except with providers acting on our behalf solely to deliver the messages you signed up for.
6Payments & processors
Payments are processed by Stripe, and for pay-over-time by third parties such as Klarna. When you pay or (as a vendor partner) receive a payout, your card, bank, and identity details are collected directly by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy; Stripe acts as an independent controller/processor of that data. Vendor payouts run through Stripe Connect, which verifies vendor identity (KYC) and bank details to enable payouts and tax pass-through.
Our Day receives transaction confirmations and limited tokenized data needed to operate bookings, commission settlement, payouts, refunds, and tax pass-through - not your full payment-card or bank-account numbers. Your use of Stripe and Klarna is also subject to their respective privacy policies.
7Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, preferences, analytics, and (where applicable) marketing. You can control cookies through your browser and any consent tools we provide. Some features may not work without essential cookies.
8Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Platform, support bookings, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, then delete or de-identify it. Logged booking communications and transaction records are retained to support dispute resolution and compliance.
9Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping your credentials safe.
10Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to opt out of certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can update account details in the Platform, manage marketing preferences, and contact us to exercise rights. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them. Vendors can request correction of profile data sourced from third parties.
11Children
The Platform is for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
12Where data is processed
We operate in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the U.S. and elsewhere. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
13Changes & contact
We may update this Policy; material changes will be notified through the Platform or by email, with the effective date above. For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@matchourday.com.
