When to book in Cape Cod

The Cape's season runs Memorial Day to Columbus Day, and September is the best month of it: the water is at its warmest, the summer renters have gone home and the light softens. Book those Saturdays 14 months or more ahead, since many venues only host a limited number of weddings a summer. July and August are full-price and full-traffic, with the Sagamore and Bourne bridges backing up every Friday afternoon and the Falmouth Road Race in mid-August tying up the Upper Cape. Between November and April most seasonal venues are shut, so an off-season Cape wedding usually means an inn or a year-round restaurant.
