When to book in Honolulu

Oahu doesn't have an off-season so much as a rainy one. November through March brings showers, mostly on the Windward side, while the leeward coast stays dry; the trade winds blow most of the year, and when they drop in late summer it gets humid. Sunset is the ceremony anchor, and it moves from about seven fifteen in June to before six in December. Book 12 months or more ahead for any Saturday in spring or summer. Hotels fill for the Honolulu Marathon in early December, Golden Week in late April and the Christmas to New Year stretch, and beach ceremonies need a state permit regardless of date.

Common questions

Honolulu is more affordable than its reputation suggests, at least for the vendors: photography and hair and makeup price at or below what most mainland metros charge, DJs are moderate, and planners sit in a middle band.
