Wedding vendors in Key West, FL

Key West is the end of the road, closer to Havana than to Miami, and a wedding here is a destination wedding whether or not you call it one. Couples marry on the sunset side of Old Town, in the gardens of conch houses and Victorian inns, on the beach at the state park at the island's southern tip, and on the water, with sunset sails and sandbar ceremonies out on the flats. Most guests fly or drive in for several days, lodging is limited and pricey in season, and a good share of the vendors come down from Miami and the Upper Keys. Our own Key West data is still thin, so the ranges below are borrowed from Naples; read on for where couples marry, when to book, and how to get matched with vetted, available Keys vendors.

Where couples get married in Key West

Old Town & the sunset side

Conch houses with walled gardens, Victorian inns, the Truman Annex and the harbor waterfront, all walkable from Duval Street for a car-free wedding weekend.

The beaches & the southern shore

The state park beach at the island's tip, Smathers Beach and the resort beaches along South Roosevelt, for a barefoot ceremony with the Atlantic behind you.

On the water & the Lower Keys

Sunset sails, sandbar ceremonies on the flats and private-island charters, plus quieter inns and beaches up through Sugarloaf, Big Pine and Marathon.

When to book in Key West

Key West's dry season, December through April, is peak, and Old Town inns, boats and the few full-service venues book 12 months or more ahead for those Saturdays. The island's festival calendar matters more than in most cities: Fantasy Fest in late October, Hemingway Days in July, the songwriters festival in May and Conch Republic week in April each fill the island and its lodging. Summer is hot and the afternoon rain is brief but reliable, and June through November is hurricane season, which Irma made concrete in 2017; September is the quietest month for that reason and the cheapest.

Common questions

Our Key West data isn't deep enough yet to price the island on its own, so the ranges above come from Naples, the nearest metro with enough priced vendors. On top of that, factor in what makes Key West its own market: a small pool of venues, guests who stay several nights, and vendors who travel down from Miami and add mileage or lodging to a quote. Venues and photographers are what we have most of locally. A boat or beach ceremony followed by a restaurant dinner is the common way couples keep the budget in check, and Our Day negotiates exclusive rates on your behalf wherever you book.
