When to book in New Haven

Shoreline venues are busiest from June through September, when the Sound is warm and the beach clubs are open, and in-town venues peak again in October as the ridges turn. Yale sets the other constraints: commencement in late May and reunion weekends right after fill hotels for miles, move-in in late August does the same, and every other November the Harvard-Yale game lands in New Haven. Wooster Square's cherry blossoms in mid-April are a lovely portrait backdrop but a crowded one on the festival weekend. Winter is quiet and easy to book.
