When to book in Park City

Late June through September is the main season, with the last two weeks of September, when the aspens turn, the hardest dates to get; resort lodges book those Saturdays 12 months or more ahead. Afternoon thunderstorms roll through most July and August days and nights drop into the forties, so plan a covered option and heaters. Winter weddings are popular from December through March, but avoid Christmas week and the Sundance Film Festival in late January, when every bed in town goes at festival rates. The Kimball Arts Festival fills Main Street in early August. Mud season in May and November is quiet and cheap, though some mountain restaurants close.
