My journey into photography and filmmaking was never something I planned. In many ways, it began in the most unexpected place while I was studying mechanical engineering in college. During my sophomore year, I discovered a passion that would eventually become my life’s work. I picked up a camera and began documenting life around campus. What started as curiosity quickly became something much deeper. I found myself fascinated by the ability to freeze a moment in time, preserve emotion, and tell stories without saying a word. I began covering campus events, including sporting events, concerts, competitions, and other student activities. Each event became an opportunity to challenge myself. I learned how to anticipate moments, work quickly, adapt to changing environments, and tell a story through images. I was not simply taking photographs or recording video I was learning how to observe. At the same time, I continued my studies in mechanical engineering. Engineering taught me a completely different way of thinking. It taught me discipline, precision, problem-solving, preparation, and how to remain calm when things don’t go according to plan. Looking back, I realize that those skills became an important part of my creative career. Photography and filmmaking are artistic disciplines, but they also require technical knowledge, preparation, timing, and the ability to solve problems under pressure. After college, my journey took me to New York City, where my creative world expanded dramatically. New York exposed me to a culture of art, fashion, music, and storytelling unlike anything I had experienced before. I became involved in the fashion world and began photographing and filming during New York Fashion Week. Fashion taught me to see differently. I became more intentional about composition, movement, lighting, details, styling, and the relationship between a subject and their environment.
