When to book in Syracuse

Syracuse is one of the snowiest cities in the country, so the wedding season is compressed into late May through mid-October, and Skaneateles Saturdays in July, August and the first color of October book 12 months or more ahead. Watch the Great New York State Fair, which runs from late August through Labor Day at the fairgrounds just west of the city and takes every hotel room with it, along with Syracuse University's May commencement and football and basketball weekends at the Dome in the fall. Lake-effect snow from November through March keeps that window open and affordable for couples who don't mind a white ceremony.
