Wedding vendors in The Hamptons, NY

A Hamptons wedding is a summer wedding: tented lawns on Southampton and Water Mill estates, beach ceremonies on the ocean side of East Hampton and Amagansett, the harbor village of Sag Harbor, and the surf-town end of the island out at Montauk. Across Peconic Bay, the North Fork's vineyards and Shelter Island give you the same water and light with a little less pressure on price. Venue fees here are the highest of any New York market in our data, well above Manhattan, while photography and hair and makeup cost about what they do in the city. Here's what a Hamptons wedding actually costs, where couples are getting married, and when to book, plus a shortcut to vetted, available East End vendors matched to your date and budget.

Where couples get married in The Hamptons

Southampton & Water Mill

Tented estates, farmland and ocean beaches on the western end, closest to the city and home to the most established wedding calendars.

East Hampton, Amagansett & Sag Harbor

Village greens, harbor-front halls and ceremonies on the public beaches, where tent permits and noise rules shape the evening.

Montauk

Bluffs, the lighthouse state park and surf-town inns at the island's end, more relaxed in style and a longer drive for guests.

The North Fork & Shelter Island

Vineyards, farm stands and ferry-access venues across Peconic Bay, with more availability and gentler venue fees than the South Fork.

When to book in The Hamptons

The Hamptons season runs Memorial Day to Labor Day, and September is the best month of the year: warm ocean, thinner traffic and the light photographers love. Those Saturdays, along with June and July, book 12 to 18 months ahead, and estate tent weddings need town permits filed months in advance. The Hampton Classic horse show in Bridgehampton at the end of August and the film festival in October fill every room from Westhampton to Montauk. Route 27 traffic and the train schedule make guest logistics a real line item. From November through April much of the East End closes, which is when the venues that stay open price best.

Common questions

The Hamptons are the most expensive place in New York State to get married on the venue line. Venue fees in our Long Island data start above the top of Manhattan's range, and a private estate tent wedding adds rentals, generators, lighting and permits on top. The rest of the team is more familiar: photography and hair and makeup price about like the city, and catering in our data is moderate before rentals and staffing. Guest count and the tent decision are the two biggest levers. The ranges above are a starting point from real vendor pricing in our Long Island data, and Our Day negotiates exclusive rates on your behalf.
